About Southern Cross Guest House

Step back in time as you enter the enchanting, walled, country garden, where you may dine at your leisure from bone china tableware, among tall scented flowers, with a backcloth of stately poplar, eucalyptus, maple and spruce.

The Historic Cottage, constructed of cob, wattle and dorb, oak beams and thatch roof.

Savour an intriguing mix of the rustic and the elegant in the charming, low beamed tea room, with its hotch-potch of antique tables, or in the lounge, where a fire once burned on the floor, giving warmth to both man and beast.

Here was the last sighting of the young weeping ghost who, accompanied by her dog, would make mischief for our famous predecessor, Miss Eileen McKenna.

This dynamic lady created the Southern Cross Phenomena The Cream Tea Experience that has won international fame and become part of the Devonshire Heritage.
